Current research

 

The provisional title for the Group’s next book (2010) is ‘Homes and Households in West Cornwall’.   Chapters will cover many historical periods.

 

Members are researching, for example:-

 

Daily lives of wives of Master Mariners, Newlyn

Homes and Households in Carnyorth (sources 17th century and later)

Trewinnard House and its influence on the locality

The Model Village of Halsetown & political background

Wellington Place and Terrace – Georgian Penzance

Vellanoweth grist mill and cottages

Farms and cottages of Rosmodress Manor

The hamlet and farm of Kerrow, Zennor

The Laity family at Bostrase

The Runcimans and St. Ives

The supply of furniture in West Cornwall

The Pascoes of St. Hilary

 

The Group would be pleased to hear from anyone with an interest in any of the above topics, who could give advice and information about sources.
