News for August 2026

A very lively meeting was held and members were full of ideas for future work. Soon to appear as a Penwith Paper on this site will be a study of changing wild flowers in the 19th and 20th centuries. Another member was eager to research the oral history of people in their seventies for an area of Penzance that was demolished when new flats were built. Other topics of interest were the history of bee skeps and beehives as well as women’s football.
Book sales this year at the Cape Cornwall Art and Craft Exhibition this year were the best ever with 36 sold.
