This month's meeting began with a very well researched talk by Carmel Harry and Stephen Vranch about church bench ends with particular attention to sixty-five in St Ives parish church. The carvings date from the fifteenth to twentieth centuries and reflect local life of their time. Booklets are available in the St Ives parish church for a donation.
An extra meeting in June was held at a member's house to discuss heraldry and view associated artefacts. This was followed by a cream tea in the sunny garden. The presentation on Hidden Histories in The Morrab Library at the Penzance LitFest on July 2nd was well attended.
Beyond The Bookshelves: Hidden Histories in The Morrab Library is now at the printers.
